British post-punk and goth rock band The Mission will return to Sweden in autumn 2027. On 30 September, they will take the stage at Fållan in Stockholm!

The Mission were formed in Leeds in 1986 after Wayne Hussey and Craig Adams left The Sisters of Mercy. Together with guitarist Simon Hinkler and drummer Mick Brown, they quickly developed their own distinctive sound somewhere between post-punk and goth rock, characterised by atmospheric guitars, soaring melodies and Hussey’s unmistakable vocals.

Their debut album, God’s Own Medicine, was released that same year, featuring songs such as “Wasteland” and “Severina”. Two years later came Children, produced by Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones, which included the now-classic “Tower of Strength”. With 1990’s Carved in Sand, the band further cemented their position with songs such as “Butterfly on a Wheel” and “Deliverance”.

After a brief hiatus in the 1990s, The Mission reunited and have continued to tour and release new music ever since. Albums such as Aura (2001), God Is a Bullet (2007) and Another Fall from Grace (2016) have built upon the band’s distinctive sound, while their intense live performances have continued to attract a devoted audience around the world.

In recent years, The Mission have toured extensively across Europe, North and South America with the following line-up: Wayne Hussey on vocals and guitar, Craig Adams on bass, Simon Hinkler on guitar and Alex Baum on drums.

In autumn 2027, Swedish audiences will once again have the chance to experience The Mission live – with the band performing at Fållan in Stockholm on 30 September.
