The reason was the unusually vibrant hardcore scene that filled the mid-sized city’s youth centers with angry young people every week. The mothership was the band Refused, whose afterburn turned out to be a perfect breeding ground for hungry bands dreaming of one day becoming just as great and important as their role models. With the era-defining album The Shape of Punk to Come from 1998, Refused changed not only the Swedish scene’s perception of what heavy music could be, but the entire world’s.
Last year, the band announced that it was time to wind things down and call it quits. During the spring and summer, they’ve toured extensively across both Europe and the U.S. Now, the end of the end has come – marked by a series of final shows on home turf with carefully selected support acts.
The concert is organized by Luger.
