With roots in Dripping Springs, Texas, Midland’s distinctive sound is led by frontman Mark Wystrach, alongside lead guitarist and vocalist Jess Carson and bassist and vocalist Cameron Duddy. Deeply rooted in tradition—both in sound and style—the trio first gained recognition through performances at local clubs.

Their critically acclaimed second album, Let It Roll, debuted at number one on Billboard’s Top Country Album Sales chart upon release and received praise from outlets such as Rolling Stone, Variety, NPR, and Entertainment Weekly. Wystrach, Carson, and Duddy played a key role in writing the album’s 14 tracks together with Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne. The album was produced by Dann Huff, McAnally, and Osborne, and followed their highly praised, gold-certified debut album On The Rocks.

Released in 2017, On The Rocks earned glowing reviews and was named “the best country album of the year” by The Washington Post. Their double platinum-certified debut single Drinkin’ Problem, inspired by 1970s and ’80s country music, earned the band their first Grammy nominations for Best Country Song and Best Country Duo/Group Performance. Midland was also named New Vocal Group of the Year at the 2018 ACM Awards and was nominated for Vocal Group of the Year at the 2020 CMA Awards.
