Lucinda Williams is a singer-songwriter who, since the beginning, has always been an uncompromising artist with immense integrity. An attitude that has surely developed during her years living in Austin, Texas—the home of outlaw country. Her lyrics have depth and a vivid, literary quality, personally and honestly addressing subjects such as sex, desire, drugs, obsession, longing, loss, and sorrow. Everything is delivered through a passionately raw, authentic voice with a closeness and conviction that captivates and moves the listener. Musically, she moves freely between country, blues, folk, and rock, though she is often labeled as alt-country.

After releasing her early records on smaller labels and finding most of her admirers among fellow musicians and critics, Williams achieved her major commercial breakthrough with the milestone album “Car Wheels on a Gravel Road” in the late 1990s. Since then, she has been one of the biggest names on the alt-country scene, continuing to release music and tour around the world. This fall, Lucinda Williams returns to Sweden – September 20 at Fållan in Stockholm.
