Vulnerability has long been in short supply within rap music. One of the artists who has done the most to challenge that notion is Loyle Carner. Seemingly unafraid to tackle subjects most of his peers wouldn’t touch with a ten-foot pole, he dives into topics like his dyslexia, identity, ADHD, and absent father with laser precision. The result has been not only a deeply devoted fanbase but also nominations and wins at prestigious events like the Mercury Prize, Brit Awards, and NME Awards, along with euphoric reviews.
This past summer, Loyle Carner released his new album hopefully !, and on October 9, he comes to Fållan in Stockholm for a highly anticipated concert.
Loyle Carner’s major breakthrough came with his second album Not Waving, But Drowning, featuring tracks like Ottolenghi. But it was when he stripped everything back and hit the emotional core on 2022’s hugo that he truly emerged as one of the most relevant voices of our time. Last year, he chose to reinterpret that album live at Royal Albert Hall—a performance that became a live album already hailed as one of the greatest in hip-hop history.
The concert is organized by Luger.
