When Lambrini Girls roared out of the starting blocks at the beginning of the decade, cultivating an uncompromising message of righteous anger, tailor-made to fire up the left and drive the right absolutely mad, Phoebe Lunny and Selin Macieira-Boşgelmez established themselves as the band that some people (internet trolls, transphobes and most -ists) might not have wanted, but that we all needed.

With their 2025 debut album Who Let The Dogs Out, the Brighton-formed duo saw their music grow bigger and reach further than they could ever have imagined: a Top 20 placing on the UK Albums Chart, covers of publications and magazines ranging from Kerrang! to NME, and sold-out tours around the world. By fighting the good fight with courage, humour and a live show packed with unmistakable chaos, it felt as though Lambrini Girls had reached their peak – making all the right people furious while watching their audiences grow at the same time – just when it was needed most, in a world that had gone completely insane. And then the world got even worse.

Enter No Refunds: a darker, even more direct and radical record for a historic moment when very little else could make sense. Its subject matter reads like a catalogue of the horrors of our time: genocide, fascism, the rise of AI and the descent into the grimy basement of the manosphere. The fact that all of these individually terrifying phenomena are happening simultaneously, within the brief window of time that has passed since Lambrini Girls’ debut less than two years ago, says a great deal about how necessary it became for the duo to write this music. The album marks a major step forward for the band – both in the confidence and maturity of its lyrics, and in the breadth and execution of the music that surrounds them.
