After six years of silence, the hip hop group Labyrint from Uppsala is finally back. Rush Ent. is organizing the band’s performance at Fållan in Stockholm, together with Swingkids.
Today, Labyrint officially announces that new tracks are on the way and that they will be going on tour this summer. A handful of festivals are confirmed, and there will also be major solo concerts in Stockholm, organized in collaboration with Rush Ent. and Swingkids. Additionally, a new single will be released soon on Redline Recordings.
With their unique mix of hip hop and reggae and socially conscious lyrics, they are more relevant than ever and have been greatly missed by many. Aki, Dajanko, Jacco, and Sai’s impact on the Swedish music and hip hop scene is immense, with numerous hits, albums, EPs, and tours in cities and towns across the country.
Labyrint broke through with songs like Välkommen hem, Kärleken, Fakkin fin, and Chilla lide, as well as several classic solo hits from the members. They quickly built a loyal fanbase everywhere through constant touring and definitely earned the title of “Ortens favoriter” (The favorites from the hood). Even after the group went on hiatus six years ago, their music has continued to influence new generations of Swedish hip hop artists.
The members of the group have stayed active. Jacco released his solo album Allt jag har and several singles. Aki has released material like the Björnligan trilogy with producers Masse and Salla, with the final part, Citybjörnar, coming soon. Sai has created a lot of music for theater and, along with Aki, has written several scripts for Uppsala City Theatre, including the latest, Shunon från Monte Cristo, which will premiere in spring 2025, starring Dajanko in the lead role. Dajanko’s acting career has gained significant momentum after his prominent role in Helikopterrånarna, which has topped Netflix's global charts.
But now, it's time for the collective to reunite and spread their vibe together once again.
“It feels like we never really left – the music has always been there. But now it’s time for us to come together as a group again, bring back the energy to the stage, and give back to our loyal listeners. Fans can expect both classic hits and a taste of new material,” Labyrint says in a joint statement.
