Svart Ridå Releases Single and Announces Spring Tour
When the story of Svart Ridå is eventually written, 2026 will stand out as the year the band played their way to an ever-growing audience. Hundreds of miles on the road, city by city and listener by listener—with a memorable performance at Way Out West in Gothenburg as the crowning achievement. Euphoric concerts. Uncompromising, explosive, and enchanting.
Now, ahead of their third studio album—the follow-up to the critically acclaimed breakthrough Aponia from 2025—Svart Ridå are releasing the single “Gränsen till undergång” (“The Brink of Doom”) on October 9 via Playground Music. On the track, the band sound rawer and heavier than ever before, without losing any of what has become their trademark: explosive, immediate choruses that grab you right away.
Alongside the single release, the band are also announcing an 18-date tour across Sweden, Denmark, and Norway, kicking off in Huskvarna on January 29, 2027. Tickets go on sale Friday, October 9 at 10:00 AM via Luger.se.
“We wrote ‘Gränsen till undergång’ out of frustration with the state of the world today. Privileged people are so good at caring about themselves and their own little problems, but forget that there are people who have almost nothing at all—no sense of security to fall back on. People are living through war and devastation, being rejected for who they are, while we sit here at home pretending that nothing is happening. We carry on living in the Swedish idyll, which really isn’t as bright as it seems when you stop and think about it. ‘Gränsen till undergång’ reflects the nature of the selfish human being. It’s a song that wants to somehow wake us from the denial we find ourselves in and make us stop and think. The world is on the brink of collapse if we continue like this—we can’t keep turning a blind eye to it.”
Since their debut in 2022, Svart Ridå have released two studio albums and, in a short period of time, established themselves as one of the most exciting and genre-defining bands in the new wave of Swedish indie rock. Recent years have included a triple GAFFA Award win, a show-stopping TV debut on Musikhjälpen, a rendition of Kent’s “Om du var här” as part of Spotify’s Singles series, and two nominations for the Manifest Awards.
